A Mother's Journey: The Experience of Sandrina Samba Bulimba

Sandrina Samba Bulimba shares her experience growing up in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which she describes as "challenging." She explains that the area is war-torn and disorganized, creating a place with limited opportunities that require attention and assistance from the rest of the world.

Sandrina portrays her migration journey as dangerous and complex, with people in her group suffering and dying along the route. Even after arriving in South Africa, the cultural differences between her home country and her new one presented further barriers that she would have to overcome.

Sandrina's testimony is a powerful tale that portrays a world that is hard to grasp due to its dire gravity. Stories like hers can help shed light on migration issues and influence governments to create easier pathways to refuge for asylum seekers.

Listen to her full story in the attatched video.
